Bob Schieffer, who has been with CBS News since 1969, is one of very few correspondents to have covered all four major Washington beats: the White House, the Pentagon, the State Department and Capitol Hill. He is CBS’s chief Washington correspondent and since May 1991 has anchored the Sunday public affairs broadcast “Face the Nation.” He is the recipient of many awards, including six Emmys, the Paul White Award (recognizes an individual's lifetime contribution to electronic journalism) and the National Press Foundation’s Broadcaster of the Year (2002). His latest book is Bob Schieffer’s America (Penguin/Putnam, September 2008). He lives in the District of Columbia.
